Well, it’s something to do, innit?

I really don’t play enough ppker. My results are good, and my ROI is high, but that’s no use to me if my initial investment isn’t large enough.  With that in mind, I’ve decided  to set myself a challenge, in order to increase the amount of money I’m staking (and hopefully winning).

I’m going to play one hundred STTs this week. At the stakes I’m playing, that should see roughly 80% of my bankroll in action between now and next Saturday. In order to pull this off, I’m going to have to be three or four-tabling for… I dunno. 30 hours? We’ll see.

In the meantime, I’ll be twittering news of my progress as I go on, so don’t forget to follow… http://twitter.com/Bad_Beat_Moth.

    Wow, good luck with that.

I can’t quite get my head around multi-tabling – I played in a Full Tilt Matrix tournament a few weeks ago (four S’n'Gs at once against the same people, money awarded for individual tables and for overall result) and to be honest it blew my tiny little mind (although I didn’t do too badly).

But for about an hour afterwards everything else in the world felt quite slow, and I felt as though I’d be able to control everything using mind power alone (wasn’t.).

You haven’t mastered telekinesis yet? Off to the nearest Scientology Org with you!

Those Matrix things sound interesting, though I’ve always been a bit wary of Full Tilt; something about their table artwork makes me play like a complete idiot (it must be the artwork. What else could it be?). That said, the structure looks… interesting; I imagine it will encourage extreme play with players either going super-aggro, looking for the 2pt bonus for knocking someone out, or super-tight, looking for the 1pt bonuses for outlasting players. HMMM TEMPTING.

The Full Tilt structure is quite good generally – short-ish levels but small increases, so that below-average action players like myself don’t get too bored.

There may be a reason my live game has been going fairly well this year and my online game less so.
